About this event
First Generation in Law Circle - Panel Discussion Wednesday 26th of November 2026 · 6:00pm City venue, Sydney Most people in the legal profession don't talk about where they started. The first in your family to study law. No connections. No one to call. No map for how any of this works. You just figure it out as you go. This panel brings together lawyers who started from exactly that place, and built remarkable careers anyway. They will speak honestly about what the journey actually looked like, what they got wrong, what they wish someone had told them earlier, and what needs to change so the next generation of first-gen lawyers doesn't have to figure it out alone. If you are the first lawyer or law student in your family, this conversation was made for you. And if you are not, this is your chance to understand an experience that is far more common in this profession than most people realise. This session will cover: What it really looks like to enter law without a network or a roadmap The moments that defined their careers, and the ones that nearly ended them What first-gen lawyers need that the profession isn't providing How to build the connections that open doors when you don't have them handed to you Places are limited to 40.
